Some Excitement

Went to my parents house this past weekend and
found ourselves across the street from a four engine
fire.  Well not really, four fire trucks did show up but
luckily none had to put out a fire.  We were spending
the afternoon at my moms when all of a sudden we had
a down pour of rain followed by to loud thunder that
made my mom let out a yell.  A few minutes later we
hear sirens and before we knew it the whole street was
full of first responders, police and fire trucks.

After my saw Veronica and me taking pictures,
she said, "Haven't you guys ever seen a fire truck?"

While all of this was going on the city sirens went
off and through the loud speaker we heard, "This
is a tornado warning please take cover immediately."

Apparently this warning didn't seem to phase
anyone because it appeared that more people
came out to see all the excitement.  I guess we all
felt secure with all the fire trucks on the street.

There ended up not being a fire, just a lightning
strike with some smoke.  One of the neighbors happened
to see it and called the firefighters.  One of the occupants
must have been in the shower because she came out with a towel.

Stephen slept through the whole thing.  this was
him after he woke up.  We ended up staying late
at grandmas house because the water would not stop.
